Chinatown got commercialized. The chains moved in, the culture thinned out, and what's left is a version of itself built more for traffic than tradition. But in the heart of Alief, Little Saigon is where the culture never left. Vietnamese-style boba tea that doesn't come from a franchise. Karaoke at Chez Beignet Cafe every Saturday and Sunday starting at 7pm. And every Sunday at Saigon Plaza, the Vietnamese community still shows up — not for content, not for clout, just to be together the way they've always been. That's the Houston most people never see. This episode shows you where the real culture lives.
